The Jim & Cherry Bost Arboretum is a two-acre addition to the Tulsa Botanic Garden that celebrates horticultural diversity while creating a welcoming space for education, exploration and reflection.

Wallace Design Collective provided landscape architecture and structural engineering services for the arboretum, which features more than 120 trees and 50 shrubs representing native, exotic, rare and endangered species. Meandering pathways lead visitors through seasonal plantings, water features and public art, culminating in a central donor plaza and scenic overlooks that encourage connection with the landscape.

A signature feature of the project is a custom 20-by-20-foot steel pergola positioned at the site’s highest point. Architecturally exposed and designed with nine custom roof panels featuring leaf patterns inspired by the Bost family, the structure serves as both a landmark and a contemplative gathering space overlooking the Garden and downtown Tulsa.

Through the integration of landscape architecture and structural design, the Jim & Cherry Bost Arboretum provides a meaningful destination that enhances the visitor experience while honoring the legacy of the Bost family.
