Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA

The newly renovated Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA was master-planned to provide an authentic camp experience in an urban setting.
The renovated campus features a modernized gym with a multipurpose sports court and locker rooms, a multi-level pool with play features, an outdoor sports court and 25,000 square feet of new indoor activity space. Outdoor amenities include access to Turkey Mountain trails, basketball and soccer courts, disc golf and water activities such as swimming, kayaking and canoeing.
A major addition to the campus is the William E. Smith Lodge, a 10,000 square foot facility with an open patio, lobby, conference room, catering kitchen and offices for the YMCA staff. Walking paths and play areas connect the site to a 250-seat amphitheater/chapel, nestled into the natural topography and overlooking Lake Logan and the Lodge. The amphitheater now serves as a central gathering space for programming and community events. Together, these improvements have transformed the Herman and Kate Kaiser YMCA into “Tulsa’s Backyard,” a one-of-a-kind destination for recreation, education and connection.
Wallace Design Collective provided structural and civil engineering services for the campus and civil engineering for improvements to Lake Logan. Enhancements at the lake included removing outdated railroad tie walls and sidewalks, implementing erosion control and bank stabilization measures, and creating safe, accessible canoe entry points.
