Transforming a decades-old facility into a modern space for health, healing and growth.

The YMCA of Greater Tulsa knows that lasting personal and social change comes about when everyone works together. That’s why strengthening community is their cause. Every day, they work side-by-side with their neighbors to make sure that everyone, regardless of age, income or background, has the opportunity to learn, grow and thrive.

The Tandy Family YMCA, the newest branch in the Y’s network, represents the transformation of a 50-year-old facility into a modern community fitness and wellness center. Wallace Design Collective provided structural and civil engineering services for the project, which completely transformed the existing 50,000 square foot building and added a 48,000 square foot expansion to meet growing needs.

The new space features a fitness center, locker rooms, three pools – a family pool, lap pool and therapy pool – and an outdoor splash pad. The renovated facility houses a nutrition kitchen, multipurpose rooms, office space and a child watch area, with the existing fitness space now connected to the new addition to double capacity.

The Tandy Y also features a dedicated space for a unique partnership with OU Physicians Sports Medicine and OU Physical Therapy, supporting preventive care and addressing chronic health conditions in the community.
