What once was a challenging stretch for pedestrians is now a safe, accessible and inviting pathway.

As part of the University Commons student housing development, Wallace Design Collective provided civil engineering services for pedestrian improvements along Hall of Fame Avenue, focusing on accessibility, safety and long-term usability.

The project included widening and upgrading the accessible sidewalk at the northwest corner of Hall of Fame and Monroe, as well as adding nearly 1,000 feet of new sidewalks and ADA-compliant ramps connecting the development to the popular Cowboy Mall shopping center.

To further enhance safety, several driveways at the shopping center were closed or reconfigured to reduce conflicts between vehicles and pedestrians. The project also addressed a 15-foot elevation change within the corridor, creating smoother transitions that make the area more walkable for all users. These improvements not only serve university residents but also strengthen connections between the campus and the surrounding Stillwater community.
