Miami Beach Convention Center

The Miami Beach Convention Center was transformed into a world-class destination, blending sleek modern design with natural elements inspired by the ocean and shoreline.
Wallace Design Collective provided structural engineering services for the renovation and expansion of the Miami Beach Convention Center. Inspired by sleek, modern design and natural elements of the ocean, beach and marine life, the renovation reimagines the center as a vibrant, world-class destination. The exterior envelope features linear forms that flow in curvilinear undulations reminiscent of ocean waves, creating a striking architectural identity.
The project encompasses a 500,000 square foot exhibit hall, a 60,000 square foot ballroom, 125,000 square feet of meeting space, rooftop parking for 800 vehicles and upgraded back-of-house facilities. Beyond the building, the plan transforms more than six acres of surface parking into a dynamic public space that better connects the Convention Center to the city. The new outdoor areas include a tropical garden, game lawn, shaded plazas, veterans’ plaza, pavilion and water feature, creating a welcoming civic environment for both residents and visitors.
The reimagined Miami Beach Convention Center achieved LEED Silver certification, reflecting the city’s commitment to sustainability alongside its vision for beauty, functionality and community connection.
