M. Bert Storey Research Building at Augusta University’s Georgia Cancer Center

A new collaborative cancer research facility supports expansion and innovation at Augusta University.
The expansion of the Georgia Cancer Center was designed to connect the university’s commitment to cancer research with the clinical care provided at its outpatient clinic. This integration reflects the university’s mission to create a discovery-to-treatment environment – one that offers cancer patients access to the latest therapies, groundbreaking treatments and some of the nation’s first clinical trials.
The 80,562 square foot facility brings together basic science teams across four floors of open concept laboratory space, shared resources and specialized equipment. The building also includes administrative offices and flexible meeting areas to support collaboration.
KSi Structural Engineers, now part of Wallace Design Collective, provided structural engineering services for the expansion. The design supports high-quality research, encourages multidisciplinary collaboration and creates an environment where innovation and translational science can thrive.
