Built for scale and resilience, Wallace’s decades-long partnership with Walmart supports retail growth, innovation and safe operations across the U.S. and Puerto Rico.

Since 1986, Wallace Design Collective has partnered with Walmart to support its continued growth across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, providing structural engineering services for more than 8,000 projects nationwide. Our team also offers on-call structural support in response to emergencies and natural disasters, helping maintain safe and operational facilities across the country.

Our work includes structural design for new Walmart stores, Sam’s Clubs, Supercenters, Neighborhood Markets and Express formats, with facilities ranging in size from 12,000 to 210,000 square feet. We’ve also supported over 200 acquisition and renovation projects, adapting existing buildings to meet Walmart’s evolving retail needs. These projects typically include pre-purchase assessments, repair designs and construction-ready drawings. Additionally, Wallace has worked on over 2,000 modifications to existing stores, ranging from storage canopy additions to major expansions that convert stores to larger formats.

Beyond buildings, we’ve designed steel storage rack systems for more than 300 Walmart and Sam’s Club locations. These services include member and anchorage design to support product loads and resist seismic forces, meeting the standards of the Rack Manufacturers Institute.
