There are many advantages to rehabilitating older structures that have outlived their original purpose. It can breathe new life and value to any old, abandoned and unused building and its surroundings. In addition to giving a second look at a structure, adaptive reuse reduces urban sprawl and has a low impact on the environment. Wallace Design Collective has provided structural and/or civil engineering services to many adaptive reuse projects, including our own headquarters – a former grocery warehouse and a metal casting foundry built in 1927.
