Northside Hospital Forsyth Women’s Center was designed to rival the nationally acclaimed Women’s Center at Northside Hospital in Atlanta. The Women’s Center at Northside Hospital Forsyth offers comprehensive services for labor and delivery, neonatal care, high-risk perinatal diagnostics, parenting and newborn classes and lactation consultation to the residents of Forsyth County.

KSi, now part of Wallace Design Collective, provided structural engineering services for the 110,000 square foot addition of Northside Forsyth Women’s Center. As one of the nation’s leading maternity and newborn care providers, this Women’s Center was designed to meet the demands of a rapidly growing community. Constructed with a tight budget and an accelerated opening date, the project team worked together and delivered the design aesthetic to provide a spa-like environment soothing to patients and their families. This project includes a two-story high galleria area and an enclosed elevated connecting bridge that connects the new women’s center to the existing building. The galleria building structure consists of structural steel moment frames on shallow spread footings. The connecting bridge has concrete columns up to the elevated floor with steel framing above to the roof.
