Delta Gamma | Alpha Omega Chapter House

Delta Gamma’s return to the University of Arkansas campus presented an opportunity to create a home that honors tradition while supporting modern sorority life.
The Delta Gamma sorority at the University of Arkansas sought a special home for its return to campus. The prominent site at the intersection of Arkansas Avenue and Maple Avenue offered the perfect opportunity to create a building and landscape that reflects their pride and presence.
Howell & Vancuren, now part of Wallace Design Collective, provided landscape architecture services for the 80-bed, 31,000 square foot sorority house. The sloped site offered the opportunity to provide access to different floors of the house and to create a variety of public and private gardens. The generally formal appearance of the gardens surrounding the house is appropriate for the Federal style of architecture. Outdoor spaces offer an abundance of flexible use spaces and photo opportunities.
