Dollar Fresh Market is one of several alternative store formats developed by Hy-Vee, Inc., designed to extend grocery services into communities where a full-sized store may not be practical.

These smaller-format stores, typically 25,000 to 30,000 square feet, offer a streamlined selection of groceries and everyday essentials, helping Hy-Vee reach more neighborhoods with greater flexibility.

Wallace Design Collective has played a key role in the growth of the Dollar Fresh concept, providing structural and civil engineering services from initial prototype development to site-specific adaptation. Our team has supported both new construction and the conversion of existing facilities, helping Hy-Vee efficiently repurpose spaces for retail use.

Services have included site layout, due diligence, grading and drainage, utility coordination and retaining wall and foundation design. This integrated approach allows for rapid deployment of new stores while supporting consistent quality, performance and adaptability across a variety of sites.
