Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center

The Georgia Cyber Innovation & Training Center is a state-owned facility that advances cybersecurity through education, training, research and real-world applications.
It represents the single largest state investment in a cybersecurity facility to date, designed to serve both public and private sector partners.
KSi Structural Engineers, now part of Wallace Design Collective, provided structural engineering services for two five-story office buildings, totaling 325,500 square feet, as well as a 777-space parking deck designed for future expansion. The project also includes a high-security area used by the State of Georgia.
The Hull McKnight Building supports cybersecurity education and workforce development with programs offered through Augusta University and Augusta Technical College, spanning certificate to doctoral levels. The Shaffer MacCartney Building fosters innovation and entrepreneurship, offering leaseable space to technology firms and startups that contribute to the state’s growing cybersecurity ecosystem.
The structural systems for the buildings feature steel frames with composite floor systems, supported on shallow spread footings and soils improved with rammed aggregate piers. To mitigate potential settlement from seismic liquefaction, a grid of vertical earthquake drains was installed across the building footprints. The precast concrete parking structure utilizes double tees, columns and load-bearing walls, with a foundation system similar to that of the office buildings.
Together, these facilities form a collaborative, future-focused campus where government, academia and industry work side-by-side to secure the digital landscape.
