Hapeville Branch Library

Designed for flexibility, light and lifelong learning, the Hapeville Library brings modern resources to a growing community.
In 2017, the Fulton County Library System evaluated the library to determine the best approach for addressing its needs. After assessing the building’s existing conditions and analyzing current and future requirements, it was decided that constructing a new facility would provide a better long-term solution than renovating the existing structure. Although the original library was architecturally significant, its spaces were undersized and could not be easily adapted without expanding the building’s footprint.
Wallace Design Collective provided structural engineering services for the new 6,000 square foot library. The project includes three meeting spaces and a dedicated teen area, with large windows along the north and south facades of the collection area that offer abundant natural light and clear views. Lower shelving and improved direct and indirect lighting enhance visibility throughout the space. Wired and wireless technology has been incorporated throughout the facility, creating a seamless, “dead zone-free” environment.
