Transforming a historic site into a modern sports complex for the next generation of Roughers.

Wallace Design Collective provided civil engineering services for Rougher Village – a new sports complex for Muskogee High School. The complex includes a new football stadium and a basketball field house featuring a varsity club for special guests, new locker rooms and weight and training rooms for student-athletes. The new stadium seats 7,500 spectators and replaces a WPA-era structure completed in 1939. Support spaces include parking, paths, walkways and driveways, plazas and green spaces.

The project’s greatest challenge was timing. With the football stadium plans leading the way, the team had to move fast on grading and utilities for the full site. To keep construction on schedule, the civil engineering team designed all infrastructure for the future field house and press box nearly eight months ahead of their design completion. That foresight kept the project running smoothly and delivered measurable savings in time and cost for the school.
