The Piedmont Mountainside Hospital ICU Expansion enhances the hospital’s ability to serve intensive care and medical-surgical patients, supporting high-quality care for Pickens County and surrounding communities.
Wallace Design Collective provided structural engineering services for the 11,000 square foot expansion, which added a 16-bed intensive care unit and increased the hospital’s total licensed bed capacity to 76. The project addressed long-standing regional needs for complex, critical care, helping the hospital accommodate growth and strengthen its role as a regional medical center.
By increasing capacity and modernizing care spaces, the expansion supports both patients and staff, allowing the hospital to continue providing safe, effective care for the community it serves.
