REI Co-op is a specialty outdoor retailer headquartered near Seattle and the nation's largest consumer co-op with 25 million members.
Wallace Design Collective provided civil engineering, landscape architecture and surveying services for the new 23,000 square foot REI store, designed to serve outdoor enthusiasts across the region. The store offers a wide range of gear and apparel for activities including camping, cycling, running, fitness, hiking, paddling and climbing.
The design features modern elements that highlight REI’s commitment to nature and sustainability. A full-service bike shop, staffed by certified mechanics, offers expert repairs and maintenance. Landscape design incorporates native and regionally adapted plantings to balance environmental responsibility with visual appeal. The use of drought-tolerant, low-maintenance species reflects REI’s dedication to thoughtful land stewardship and connection to the outdoors.
