Created as a place of reflection and civic pride, the Stanford Family Liberty Garden provides a welcoming and meaningful space for visitors to gather, celebrate and connect with the surrounding landscape.

Wallace Design Collective, in collaboration with 3.fromme DESIGN, provided landscape architecture for the Stanford Family Liberty Garden, a reflective and patriotic space along the lake at Tulsa Botanic Garden. Situated on a half-acre peninsula, the garden’s centerpiece is a large American flag displayed on a decorative masonry plinth with perforated metal panels that glow like lanterns at night. Visitors enter across the Rosalie and Lindsay Alexander Deco Bridge, framed by a grove of trees and ornate ironwork gates.

The garden is organized into four outdoor “rooms” that guide the visitor experience. The Entry Grove offers shaded seating and a welcoming approach. The Civic Lawn provides a spacious area for gatherings and events. The Flagpole Terrace highlights the American flag and creates a contemplative space, while the Waterside Stairs lead to scenic views of the lake. Perennial borders and vibrant plantings enhance the garden’s character, combining beauty, reflection and civic pride.
