Tulsa County Family Center for Juvenile Justice

Designed to foster dignity, safety and support, Tulsa’s new Family Center for Juvenile Justice brings the entire system under one roof to better serve youth and families.
The Family Center for Juvenile Justice brings together all facets of the juvenile justice system to support youth, strengthen families and build a safer community. Replacing a 50-year-old facility, the new center now serves as the home of Tulsa County Juvenile Court. It houses essential support services, including the Sheriff’s Office, Public Defender’s Office, Drug Court, Court Clerk’s Office and probation services. The courthouse features six courtrooms – two more than the previous building – and expands capacity for jury trials and collaborative services.
Wallace Design Collective provided structural and civil engineering services for the two-story complex. The project includes a 100,000 square foot courthouse and administrative building, along with a 47,000 square foot detention center offering 63 beds and a full-size gymnasium. Designed to meet the needs of legal, counseling and detention services, the facility creates a more secure and dignified space that encourages healing and connection for youth and families navigating the justice system.
