Russell Hall’s extensive renovation improved living spaces and community areas to better serve today’s students.

Originally constructed in 1967, Russell Hall was overdue for an extensive rehabilitation. KSi Structural Engineers, now a part of Wallace Design Collective, provided structural engineering services for the nine-story, 230,000 square foot residence hall’s renovation. The rehabilitated 960-bed residence hall now has spaces beyond the dorm rooms with the numerous classrooms, computer labs, community gathering spaces and study rooms, making the on-campus living experience more enjoyable for those who reside within.

The project also reconfigured all living, bathroom and some programmatic spaces to enhance the student amenities, including greater flexibility and increased study space. The student laundry and kitchen space was also redistributed vertically, allowing for more community access.
