A modern elementary school that transforms challenging site conditions into opportunities for learning, recreation and exploration.
Jenks Northwest Elementary School is a 160,000 square foot educational facility serving one of Oklahoma’s largest and most recognized school districts.
Wallace Design Collective provided civil engineering services for the elementary school, which includes 90 classrooms, a media center, two gymnasiums, a cafeteria/auditorium, a STEM classroom and extensive outdoor recreation areas.
The site presented a significant challenge with approximately 50 feet of elevation change across the area. Working closely with the design team, Wallace helped develop a solution that stepped the building down the hillside, utilizing the natural terrain to create unique outdoor play and learning opportunities, including integrated slides, climbing features and gathering spaces. The result is a campus that responds to its environment while supporting an engaging educational experience for students.
