Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District Roof Inspections

By addressing storm damage quickly, Choctaw-Nicoma Park took an important step in maintaining safe learning environments for students and staff.
Choctaw-Nicoma Park School District, located just east of Oklahoma City and Tinker Air Force Base, spans approximately 60 square miles and serves a diverse and growing community. Known for its commitment to academic excellence, student achievement and community involvement, the district continues to invest in the safety, functionality and longevity of its educational facilities.
Following a severe hailstorm in 2018, Wallace Design Collective was engaged to perform detailed roof inspections and provide repair recommendations for four of the district’s facilities. The damaged properties needing repair included Choctaw High School, the middle school, the agriculture education facility and an elementary school. Each building had sustained damage to its roof, specifically to the Kynar 500 coated roof panels, which are commonly used for their durability, weather resistance and long-term color retention.
Our team then developed tailored, strategic repair recommendations that balanced cost-effectiveness with the need to preserve the integrity and lifespan of the existing systems. The goal was to help the district make well-informed, proactive decisions about facility repairs and ongoing maintenance needs while minimizing disruption to daily school operations.
