BancFirst Tower Renovation
The original home of Liberty Bank was purchased by BancFirst with the intent to restore the property and glorify the Oklahoma City downtown icon. The building renovation included the removal of architectural columns at the entry-level to be more open and sleek, a new glass façade for the entire building height and a new plaza designed to be a park-like space. The renovation of the plaza and new building interior, filled with warm woods and modern touches, complement the new all-glass façade, and give a nod to the BancFirst brand.
The concept for the exterior plaza provides a path for multiple food trucks as well as ample seating and green space for employees and pedestrians to enjoy. Sculptural glass pyramids add dimension, highlight the new glass façade, and give passing walkers a look beneath to views of Oklahoma City’s underground pedestrian tunnels.
Wallace provided structural engineering services for the renovation of BancFirst’s 190,000 square foot offices, the ground-level plaza and the 230,000 square foot glass façade.
