Delta Gamma | Alpha Omega Chapter House
University of Arkansas
The Delta Gamma sorority at the University of Arkansas desired a special home for their return to the U of A campus after many years of not having a presence on the campus. The prominent site at the intersection of Arkansas Avenue and Maple Avenue was the perfect location to showcase a building and landscape that they can be proud of.
Howell & Vancuren, now part of Wallace Design Collective, provided landscape architectural services for the new 80-bed, 31,000 square foot sorority. The sloped site offered the opportunity to provide access to different floors of the house, and to create a variety of public and private gardens. The generally formal appearance of the gardens surrounding the house is appropriate for the Federal style of architecture. Outdoor spaces will offer an abundance of flexible use spaces and photo opportunities.
