Georgia Cancer Center M. Bert Storey Research Building
Augusta University
KSi, now part of Wallace Design Collective, provided structural engineering services for the 72,000 square foot expansion of the Georgia Cancer Center at Augusta University. The expansion of the Cancer Center is designed to connect the university’s dedication of cancer research to the clinical activities at the Georgia Cancer Center’s outpatient clinic. It is also representative of Augusta University’s commitment to provide a discovery to treatment environment that gives cancer patients access to the latest treatments, therapies and first in the nation clinical trials.
The main building houses the basic science teams with four floors of open concept laboratory space, shared resources and special equipment as well as administrative offices and meeting space. The project’s design provides the opportunity for quality research to promote multidisciplinary collaborations and translational research and creates an environment that promotes innovation.
