Horticulture, Education and Research Center
Langston University
Langston University was established in 1897 as a Land Grant Institution through the Morrill Act of 1890. Agriculture was a founding tenet of the University as it remains today. Their mission is to continue to grow and adapt to the world’s ever-changing need for agricultural research through academic, research and extension/outreach programs in a variety of disciplines.
Wallace Design Collective provided civil engineering services for two single-story buildings; a 4,266 square foot headhouse and 3,700 square foot greenhouse. The headhouse features a classroom, offices, storage for soil, equipment and fertilizer, a dedicated receiving area and an area for sorting plant materials. The three-bay greenhouse is to prepare students for careers in horticulture with hands-on experience.
