Welcome Center
Oral Roberts University
The Wall Street Journal ranked ORU as the #4 university in the nation for student engagement. This ranking is based upon faculty interactions, collaborative learning, critical thinking, real-world applications of student learning, the extent to which classes challenge students, and whether students would recommend a university to others.
ORU administrators say they wanted this welcome center to be right beside the healing hands, as a way to welcome new students to the university. “One of the most important decisions you ever make in life is where you’re going to college,” ORU president Dr. William Wilson said.
The Welcome Center, envisioned as the campus’ “front door,” will be the first building visitors see when they arrive. ORU admissions staff will be housed in the center, where they can assist new arrivals with tours and other information.
The new Center was the first of four projects being built in the university’s Whole Leaders for the Whole World Campaign. ORU President Dr. William Wilson says the goal of that campaign is to attract more students from all over the world to come to school here. Wallace provided civil and structural engineering services for this new project.
