As we enter into 2018, I’d like to reflect back on some our accomplishments of the past year.

We started 2017 by welcoming two new Principals, Sarah Appleton and Dan Mazzei, to our ownership group. We had a smooth President & CEO transition from Tom Wallace to me (Tom Hendrick) in March, and Tom seems pretty content in his role as Chairman of the Board. We moved into new office spaces in both our Oklahoma City and Denver locations, and we have seen growth in personnel in our Atlanta and Oklahoma City offices.

Our Civil Engineering group had a banner year with a substantial increase in project work and the addition of several new employees. Our Volume group continues to perform well and has steadily added new clients, primarily in the retail sector, despite all the changes occurring in retail business these days. Our Forensic group may be our fastest growing part of the company. They’ve had a busy year including an immediate and firsthand response to the devastation in Puerto Rico caused by Hurricane Maria.

Finally, 2017 brought completion or substantial progress to some of our bigger projects including the Miami Beach Convention Center, the Minnesota Vikings Headquarters and Indoor Practice Facility, and the A. Zahner Company Headquarters expansion.

In 2018, we plan to continue our focus on responsiveness, flexibility, quality and creativity, which are attributes our clients expect and deserve. We want to continue to be an essential partner to our clients and one of the best engineering firms to work for by our employees. We have a goal for continued growth, which both excites our employees and provides opportunity. To accomplish those things, we will be optimizing the operational framework of our business with a focus on improving our standard proposals, contracts, drawings, calculations and specifications. We expect 2018 to be an outstanding year!
